How do I recover my account?

If you added a recovery email when you signed up, open the app, tap sign in, and use that email to get back in. If you didn't add one, keep reading.

Why can't I recover my account without a recovery email?

Accounts are anonymous "phantoms" — we don't collect your name, phone number, or any identifier that could tie an account to you. A recovery email is the only link between you and your account. Without it, there's no way for us to prove the account is yours, so a lost account can't be recovered. That's a deliberate part of staying anonymous, not an oversight. Add a recovery email in Settings to avoid this.

How do I delete my account?

Deletion is self-serve. Go to Settings → Delete account in the app. This permanently removes your account and content. It's immediate and can't be undone.

Privacy & anonymity

How anonymous am I?

Very. There are no names, no faces, and no public profiles tied to a real identity. Other users see your posts, not you. For the full picture of what we store and why, read our Privacy Policy.

What is face blur and voice change?

Video confessions are protected on your device before anything is uploaded. Face blur obscures your face and voice change disguises your voice, so the version that leaves your phone is already anonymized.

What can and can't you see?

We can see the content people post so we can moderate it and keep the community safe. We can't see who you are in the real world unless you tell us — for example, by adding a recovery email. See the Privacy Policy for specifics.

How do I cancel Toxic Confessions Plus?

Toxic Confessions Plus auto-renews until you cancel. Manage or cancel it through the store you bought it from:

Canceling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.

How do I restore a purchase?

If you switched phones or reinstalled, open the app's Paywall or Settings and tap Restore purchases. Your active subscription will be reconnected.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by the app store, not by us. Request one from Apple (for iPhone purchases) or Google (for Android purchases) through your account with them.

Safety & moderation

How do I report content?

Every post and reply has a Report action with categorized reasons. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. See our Community Guidelines for what's not allowed.

How do I block someone?

Block is available on every post and reply. Once blocked, you won't see their content and they won't see yours.

How fast are reports reviewed?

Within 24 hours. Content that breaks our rules is removed and repeat offenders are banned.

Notifications

How do I turn off push notifications?

Turn them off in the app under Settings → Notifications, or in your phone's system settings for Toxic Confessions.
