Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are the agreement between you and Toxic Confessions ("we", "us") for use of the Toxic Confessions app and website. They include our end-user license agreement (EULA). Read them — using the app means you accept them.

The short version. You must be 18+. Be anonymous, don't out real people, don't threaten anyone, and never post anything sexual involving minors. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users — violations get removed and accounts banned. You own your posts; you can delete them or your whole account anytime.

Acceptance & eligibility

Toxic Confessions is an 18+ service. You must be at least 18 years old to use it. You must accept these Terms in the app before you can post. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

Toxic Confessions lets you share anonymous confessions and reply to others. We provide the service on a best-effort basis and do not guarantee that it will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

Your account

Your account is an anonymous "phantom" — no real name or phone number required. You are responsible for the activity that happens on your account. You may optionally add a recovery email so you can regain access; keep it to yourself.

House rules

These mirror the rules shown in the app. Break them and your content comes down and your account may be banned.

  1. 01 — No real identities. No doxxing. No real names, addresses, license plates, or faces. This is auto-detected and removed.
  2. 02 — No threats, no violence. Credible threats are acted on, and we contact the authorities when lives are at risk.
  3. 03 — No exploitation. Anything sexual involving minors is reported instantly, with no exceptions.
  4. 04 — Honesty over shock. Fabricating confessions as engagement-bait may get you shadowbanned.
  5. 05 — Zero tolerance. There is ZERO TOLERANCE for objectionable content and abusive users. Violating content is removed and the offending account is banned. Reports are acted on within 24 hours.

Moderation & enforcement

Every post and reply has report and block tools built in. We use automated screening plus human review. Depending on the violation we may remove content, shadowban, or permanently ban an account. Where content is unlawful, we may preserve and report it to NCMEC and/or the relevant authorities as required by law.

Your content & license

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute your content within the service so the app can function. This license ends for a piece of content when you delete it, except where we must retain it for legal or safety reasons. You can delete your content or your entire account at any time.

Subscriptions (Toxic Confessions Plus)

Toxic Confessions Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play. The price is shown to you at the time of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime:

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective policies.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → Delete account. This removes your phantom and the content tied to it.

Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. Confessions are user-generated and are not verified by us — treat them accordingly. Toxic Confessions is not a crisis or emergency service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services. In the US, you can call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Toxic Confessions is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of your use of the service.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Toxic Confessions harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or the house rules, or where required to protect the community or comply with the law. You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the app evolves or the law changes. When we make a material change, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Toxic Confessions after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
